Nuestra Misión:
El Sol de San Telmo es un medio no-partidario fundado en 2007 y dedicado a fortalecer y celebrar el barrio de San Telmo y el Casco Histórico de Buenos Aires. Definimos nuestra visión editorial como periodismo comunitario. Valoramos toda comunicación que genere un foro abierto de participación y diálogo para las muchas voces que constituyen la comunidad de San Telmo. Reconocemos que vivimos en una época en la cual los medios (tanto masivos como independientes) ocupan cada vez más el espacio de intercambio y comunicación que antes ocupaban nuestros espacios públicos—las plazas, parques y veredas donde nuestros abuelos se juntaban para conectarse con el mundo y con sus comunidades. Por eso queremos revalorar el intercambio y la conexión humana a través de un periódico cuya identidad, contenido, y espíritu se definen a través de la participación activa de sus lectores y colaboradores. Todos los que viven o trabajan en el barrio, o simplemente le tienen cariño, están invitados a formar parte del debate sobre San Telmo: su patrimonio tangible e intangible, su pueblo y su futuro.
Our Mission:
El Sol de San Telmo is a non-partisan print and online newspaper committed to strengthening and celebrating the neighborhood of San Telmo and the Historic District of Buenos Aires. We define our editorial vision as community journalism and value all communication that creates an open forum of participation and dialogue for the many voices that constitute the community of San Telmo. We recognize that we live in an era when the media (corporate and independent) increasingly occupy the role of exchange and communication that our public spaces once did—the plazas, parks and sidewalks where our grandparents gathered to connect with each other, with the world, and with their communities. This is why we want to revalue human exchange and connection through a publication whose identity, content and spirit are defined through the active participation of its readers and contributors. All those who live, work, or simply have a special affection for the neighborhood are invited to be part of the debate about San Telmo: its tangible and intangible heritage, its people and its future.
